Firefighter Health & Wellbeing Questionnaire.

We are currently supporting a PhD student at Bedfordshire University who is carrying out an investigation to broaden scientific knowledge specifically around firefighter health.

Research shows that when you eat and sleep is a key factor in optimising the human body clock, which can both positively or negatively influence health. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand how the timing of food intake may affect health outcomes and health behaviours in Firefighters.

The PhD team have been in close discussion with The NFCC and have developed an online questionnaire that follows the main themes:

  • Meal timing
  • Nutritional quality
  • Physical activity levels
  • Smoking status
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Sleep quality
  • Caffeine use

The NFCC and all Fire and Rescue services across the country and encouraged staff to complete the questionnaire in order for the research team to be able to develop a thorough analysis.

Throughout the questionnaire, please answer questions truthfully and with honesty. Furthermore, you may withdraw from the study at any point, and you will not be required to explain your reasons for withdrawal. You can also withdraw the data that you have supplied up to 4 weeks following completion of the study without reason.

Please note all information provided is anonymous.
